Dan has been a leader in open source networking and security since helping start the Open vSwitch (OVS) project while at Nicira. OVS became the most popular software-defined networking platform for Linux and as part of that work Dan created and acted at the project technical lead for the OpenStack Networking project (now called OpenStack Neutron). Dan now focuses his energy on Cilium (http://www.cilium.io), which uses eBPF to bring really cool and powerful networking & security capabilities to Kubernetes. {Dan has previously spoken at KubeCon, OpenStack Summit and many other industry events}
