Alex Glikson is a systems researcher and an architect working on virtualization management and cloud infrastructure technologies since mid 2000’s. He has been involved in multiple open source projects, notably OpenStack, Docker and more recently OpenWhisk and Kubernetes. After spending 14 years at IBM Research in Israel, Alex is visiting the Carnegie Mellon University (2017-2019), where he teaches Cloud Computing (including Kubernetes), leads research projects related to elasticity and resource management, and acts as an architect for multiple teams developing in-house cloud-native education platforms (focusing on AWS and the open source ecosystem). Alex is particularly passionate about the 'serverless' ecosystem.
